Odessa D. Burrow
Odessa D. is a Santa Barbara painter whose work reflects a lifelong connection to nature, light, and place. Raised in Willow, Alaska and trained early on by her grandmother in Oklahoma, she carries forward that legacy by signing her work “Odessa D.” With more than four decades of experience in oil, pastel, acrylic, and watercolor, her art often explores moments of transition and quiet reflection.
Her new series, Windows and Doors, brings together pieces that invite viewers to pause, look through, and step into new spaces.
Elisabeth Lafolye Acogny
Born in France, I studied art for 2 years at l’Ecole des Beaux Arts in Nantes.
My travelings took me to several African countries, where I deepened my approach of life and naturally developed a taste for bright colors.
Color is my inspiration. The need for colors and the urgency to reproduce, mix, layer, define, collide, rushes me to paint. Even in darkest hours, if I can rest my eyes on a stain of color it brings me peace and hope.
I work with gold leaves often. The gold color has always attracted me for its luminosity and shine, it cradles my soul, and when trying to keep an open heart to reflect gratitude toward the complexity and beauty of our planet Earth, I find it a lifting color.
— Elisabeth Lafolye Acogny
Robin Deshayes
Robin Deshayes is a contemporary painter who paints all around Santa Barbara County. Her painting process takes her outdoors en plein air for her studies, and then into the studio. She competes at plein air competitions in California and Arizona. “First Light, Santa Barbara” is a studio painting based upon a plein air sketch painted at Chase Palm Park early on a glorious April morning.

Kelly E. Parmenter
Kelly E. Parmenter’s September show, Places I Love, is her debut exhibit at Gallery 113. All her paintings depict places that hold deep meaning to her. She especially loves visiting—and therefore painting—mountains, lakes, oceans, and gardens. You will see paintings of her favorite vacation spots in Hawaii, the Eastern Sierra, and the Channel Islands, as well as her beautiful Santa Ynez hometown.
Kelly’s preference is to work with thick oil paints and palette knives to create impasto paintings using a wet-on-wet technique. She likes contrast, bold colors, layers, and texture to depict a certain energy she sees and feels.
Virginia Kamhi
Hear the waves crash and feel the spray on your face as you immerse yourself in Ocean Rhythms by Virginia Kamhi. Her expressive realist paintings convey the poetry, imaginative power, and movement of the sea. Be sure to go upstairs to view this collection of twenty recent paintings.
Although Kamhi also works in other media, pastels are her passion because of their tactile quality and unique ability to paint the visual poetry that nourishes her soul. She loves to spend time by the sea and feels it is a privilege to closely observe what others fail to see in the course of their hurried lives.
Fred Lehto
Long time performer and singer Fred Lehto worked at the Music Academy of the West for 43 years. On retiring he discovered “light painting” and it became his passion. His award winning work can be found in several Santa Barbara art galleries. His work is primarily printed on aluminum, making it suitable for indoors or outdoors.
Paula Re
Paula Re is a poet who paints, embedding her words into images she creates to elevate meaning to a new level.
For her latest show “shadows of ourselves”, Paula used an ink sublimation on aluminum process to create her works. Using shadow photos, many of herself, she inserted words to bring viewers to an exploration of universal conditions and thoughts.
Paula is a Santa Barbara native and has pieces with Cher, Jim Messina and the late Lady Ridley-Tree along with others. She has had many solo shows and enjoys participating in multi-artist showings as well.
Odessa Burrow
Raised in Alaska’s wild backcountry, Odessa D. brings the spirit of the great outdoors into every brushstroke. Inspired early on by her mural‑painting grandmother, she now signs her work in her honor. A lifelong photographer and painter, Odessa moves easily between oils, pastels, acrylics, and watercolor, letting each medium spark the next idea. Now based in Santa Barbara, she’s an enthusiastic supporter of the local arts community and serves on multiple art association boards — always cheering on fellow artists and celebrating the joy of creativity.
Her September show theme is “Nautical Vibe.” September brings a fresh breeze to the gallery as All Around the Harbor sails into view. This lively collection celebrates the charm and character of our coastline — from boats resting in their moorings to gulls keeping watch over the docks. Each painting offers a playful glimpse into the everyday magic of harbor life, where sunlight shimmers across the tide and the waterfront hums with quiet stories. Join us as we welcome the easy rhythm of maritime days into the gallery and enjoy a colorful voyage through our local shores.
Kristen Walker
Kristen M. Walker is a Santa Barbara-based conservation artist drawn to exploring, painting, and protecting California’s Channel Islands. Her work highlights the islands’ dramatic landscapes and remarkable native and endemic plants.
Kristen’s paintings begin in the field—hiking island trails, observing native plants, sketching, researching, photographing, and learning. Back in the studio, those experiences become acrylic paintings that celebrate the distinctive beauty and extraordinary biodiversity of the islands.
Through Drawn to the Islands, Kristen seeks to inspire curiosity about California’s unique island ecosystems. Her paintings are an invitation to slow down, look more closely at these remarkable landscapes, become curious about the stories they tell, and ultimately care about protecting them.
Andie Adler
Creative pursuits have always been a part of my life. Acrylic paint pouring became my avenue of artistic expression in 2020. I was drawn to this art form because it allows me to experiment with color, movement, and space on the canvas. It challenges me to create abstract images that remind the viewer of something familiar, a tranquil waterfall, a blossoming flower, the ocean mist, or something that makes you feel dreamy. Then, in 2025, I became interested in paper collage. In fact, I fell in love with it! So today I work in both mediums. Variety is the spice of life!
Jerry Martin
My primary creative interest lies in plein air painting. I find immense joy in being outdoors in our magnificent environment, striving to capture a fleeting glimpse of the essence of light and place — our beautiful environment.
Over the years, I have also been drawn to the darker aspects of societal issues — our ugly environment.
By drawing attention to these ugly aspects, I hope to inspire thoughtful consideration about how we can improve them. Do you agree that these issues are indeed ugly? If you were the “driver of the bus,” what actions would you take to address them? We are all passengers on this magnificent spaceship Earth.

Nagui Achamallah
Born in Alexandria, Egypt, my artistic journey began alongside my medical education. Following my move to the United States in the 1980s, I completed my psychiatric training at the University of California. My decades of practice as a psychiatrist in the Bay Area profoundly influenced my perspective as a painter, offering me a deep, clinical, and empathetic understanding of the human condition.
Now dedicated exclusively to my studio practice in Southern California, I work primarily in acrylics and oils, producing a prolific body of work each year.
R. Scott Thure
R. Scott Thure is a Los Angeles–based mixed-media artist whose work explores texture, material, and form through the use of reclaimed wood, paint, and found objects. Rooted in transformation, his practice repurposes discarded and overlooked materials into dimensional compositions that carry both history and presence.
Native to Southern California, Thure draws lasting inspiration from surf culture, coastal landscapes, and a longstanding appreciation for Art Deco design. These influences are evident in his evolving body of work, including his surfboard-inspired collection, where painting, sculpture, and functional design converge.

I’ve recently returned from Japan with a suitcase full of miniature treasures. Over the past couple of months, I’ve been turning those finds into a collection of Japanese storyboxes inspired by the quiet beauty and timeless spirit I experienced while traveling there. Each piece features one-of-a-kind antique figurines and hand-built details. This collection is inspired by the serenity and quiet elegance of everyday life in Japan.
Odessa D. Burrow
Dive into the hidden world beneath the waves with Odessa D. Burrow’s newest collection, Beneath the Surface. Through a series of luminous oil paintings, Burrow invites viewers into California’s underwater forests, where harbor seals glide through ribbons of giant kelp and sunlight dances across the ocean’s surface.
Known for her expressive use of color and light, Burrow transforms moments from nature into immersive visual experiences that evoke curiosity, joy, and a sense of stewardship for the ocean. Beneath the Surface is a tribute to the resilience of marine life and the quiet magic found beneath the sea’s surface.

Brenda Geneau
I have lived in Santa Barbara since 1954 where I attended local schools. I took my first painting class in the 1970’s studying under Andre Andreoli, world famous acrylic painter, and local artist Buck Paulson.
While traveling around the world I soon realized how beautiful Santa Barbara was and that paradise was truly in my own backyard, and longed to be painting more than ever.

While traveling around the world I soon realized how beautiful Santa Barbara was and that paradise was truly in my own backyard, and longed to be painting more than ever.
After retiring in 1992, I started back to school studying under Rose Margaret Braiden, Cathy Quill, Kaaren Robertson and Susan Sallade. I found that the bright transparent properties of watercolor were so magical and exciting it was the perfect medium for painting the beauty of color and light I had observed in nature.

Brendan Murdock
I currently work with individuals who have been impacted by trauma: mental and/or physical. Many of my students live with a diagnosis. They are not defined by such. Aside from private clients, I facilitate transformation through the Mental Wellness Center in Santa Barbara. I participate adjunctly with the William James Association, an organization serving both the incarcerated and previously incarcerated.
A former professor of art, art history and graphic design, I am now more humbled by the talent I currently discover. I don’t consider them to be “outliers.” I often see superior talent and more creative content than most students I had at the university.

“Winging It” is a solo exhibition inspired by birds and winged creatures, the movement and the freedom of following an instinct. Through winged and grounded subjects, the work celebrates lightness, joy, and the art of trusting where the moment leads.
Not every piece in the exhibition has wings, but each shares the same spirit of openness. Whether grounded or airborne, the work celebrates motion, instinct, and the beauty of simply winging it.
Maureen Murdock
Maureen Murdock is a black-and-white art photographer who finds deep resonance in the desert landscapes of Taos, Joshua Tree National Park, and Death Valley National Park. These places share a stark, meditative drama that comes fully alive in black and white—where light, shadow, and form reveal the essential nature of the land.
Matt Lancaster
Living and creating in Santa Barbara California, I use fabric as my palette and thread as my brush. My work begins with an intuitive search for textiles that show emotion, movement and possibility. I pin fabrics onto cloth in a painterly style ,layering shapes and hues in a deliberate and instinctive fashion.Once the designs feel alive and complete I stitch the pieces together transforming fabric into magical pieces of art. Creating is not just simply a practice for me but an innate biological drive, almost a necessary form of language. Through texture and color, I translate feeling into form. Fabric Collage is my therapy, my meditation and my language.
