About Us
Gallery 113 first opened its doors in 1973 in a modest space at 113 E. De La Guerra Street. Founded by a small group of inspired artists, the Gallery was organized as an independent cooperative gallery to foster and promote the work of local Santa Barbara artists. In 1978, the Gallery moved to its two-level present location in beautiful La Arcada Court.
With the growing membership of the Santa Barbara Art Association (SBAA), the Gallery soon began representing the artists of the Association exclusively, forging a strong bond between the two organizations. Prospective Gallery artists first become members of the SBAA through a jury process. Over 75 members exhibit regularly, carrying on in the cooperative spirit that has enabled Gallery 113 to become the most long-lived operating fine art gallery in Santa Barbara.
Exhibits change monthly, with artists paying modest entry fees and commissions for group and one-person exhibitions.
Gallery 113 sells original paintings, drawings, collage and etchings, as well as sculpture, ceramics and jewelry. Some photo-mechanical processes are also exhibited. A rich variety of media, subject matter and style reflects our talented and diverse family of artists.
