Barbara is drawn to simple compositions, textures, handmade paper, found objects, Asian influences, and a limited color palette. When mixing colors, she is joyful when the adjective, dreamy and delicious come to mind. Golden butterscotch, luscious sunsets, the perfect red of a pepper, the colors of houses in the Caribbean, and the green of an olive can appear in her paintings.
