I paint subjects that interest me and try to express it in the way that best reflects my observation and feelings about it. I love the texture of oil paint on linen canvas and am influenced by artists who portray realistic styles. During Covid, I tuned in daily to “Art School Live” (produced by Eric Rhoads) where famous artists shared their knowledge and techniques on painting. Recently, I completed a year-long online mentoring course with Colley Whisson through the Tucson Art Academy and am now studying with New Zealand artist, Andrew Tischler, and local artist, John Iwerks. In May, I attended my third Plein Air Convention in Reno/Lake Tahoe. My art journey is a continuing learning process where I strive to obtain the next 5% incremental skill level as Bill Davidson advised in an online workshop I took.
