Chris Provenzano
I’ve worked diligently and passionately for the last 35 years as a commercial & fine art sculptor. Stone, bronze, clay & foam allowed me to create work that I am very proud of, but for some reason I am no longer satisfied being a sculptor.
For many years, I wanted to study oil painting. These past four years since I started oil painting have been such a joy. Each painting is like a daring adventure or sometimes like a stubborn old friend. I enjoy the challenge and am no longer intimidated by a pristine fresh, white canvas. The most valuable information I’ve learned is that landscape painting is not a botany test but an opportunity for personal expression. Fortunately, I’ve stopped writing each color name on my palette, because I finally recognize Cobalt blue from Ultramarine blue—I guess I’m making progress.
