Karen Nicolaij Glancy was born and raised in North Dakota it was then that developed her love for wide open spaces and clear blue skies. She predominately paints with pastel and oil creating landscapes and seascapes, although she has a “no -limits” attitude and explores a great deal.
Karen had the need to create from a very early age. She has worked in many mediums oils, water color, china painting, ceramics and encaustics. She is currently focused more on pastels and the lovely affects you can achieve with it. Karen lives in Carpinteria, California since 2016 and with the mountains and ocean just out side the door she never needs to go far for inspiration.
