According to a 2015 study nearly 500 species of animals have gone extinct since 1900. This group of paintings then, is a small meditation on the fragility and deterioration of our environment. It is not meant to be an inclusive scientific overview; rather, it is a selective grouping of representative animals whose visual appeal or loss I found compelling.
