Sally Berry

Artist of the Month

Sally Berry is a photo artist based in Santa Barbara, California specializing in nature and landscape images of west coast United States. Her images are inspired from water and surrounding nature typically using a painterly style with a touch of fine lines. She prefers a quiet style, sometimes long exposure, sometimes moody with subtle use of light. Sally creates raw photo images in nature that she processes and finalizes to archival print.

Each image hopes to communicate her visual mood of the environment. “I am a self taught photographer who has re-visited this media after a long sabbatical. I love seascapes, anything water, open spaces and often prefer to create a soft, painterly effect. Rather than losing the image in the “digital” format, my goal is to interpret and finalize the photo image as a print on tactile media such as cotton rag paper to visually share my message with others.”
