Artist Statement: Water Forms
I am a representational oil painter who seeks out environments that are familiar and ordinary but are often overlooked. In this series, water forms are all around us. They exist in vast, expansive places like the ocean and in places like puddles left in the aftermath of a rain storm. We encounter water and its many forms often without notice. We recreate in it, it provides nourishment for living things, including a multitude of creatures live beneath the sea, often out of view. These paintings are a collection of water as it forms and is experienced in everyday life.
